TVES (Traffic Violation Enforcement System)
The TVES system is a mobile traffic offence management system designed to allow the issuance of summonses to offending motorists in the field. TVES eliminates the need for traffic enforcement officers to physically follow offending motorists to their offices to register and process traffic offences. This will free up the officers to conduct more interdictions and ultimately accost more offenders. The system comprises of a number of sub-system working seamlessly in real-time. Traffic enforcement officers are equipped with GSM/GPRS capable Smartphones which are basically ultraportable computers capable of communicating securely over the GSM network infrastructure with a traffic offence database system. All communication between the Smartphones and the backend servers will be encrypted for security and system integrity. A firewall protects the TVES infrastructure from threats originating from the internet while the database is protected from internal compromise through the use of database encryption and database action auditing. The communications server receives all communications from devices in the field and handles the authentication requests. The communications server upon authentication of a device hands over to the middle tier which houses the various services that provide traffic violation enforcement transactions and also the payment transactions originating from the various participating banks. A highly available relational database system serves as data source for all TVES applications; the database is replicated in real-time to a disaster recovery site for protection. A TVES payment gateway is accessible via VPN to participating banks where offending motorists go to make payments.
RAPID (Rapid Assisted Police Interdiction and Dispatch)
RAPID is a state of the art system designed specifically for law enforcement use. It will assist with improved response and more accurate location of crime scenes. The system will provide more effective and timely interdiction through the use of modern communications techniques. The RAPID system is a marriage of GPS technology and modern cellular telephony. The synergy of the combined technologies will allow enforcement to realize the same benefits seen from such implementations around the world where response times are dramatically reduced using the same location based technologies. RAPID will dramatically increase the law enforcement’s communications footprint across the country through the use of our “PTT (Push to Talk) over Cellular” offering (PoC).
